WATER POLO
THE MOST INTENSE GAME IN THE WORLD BUT YOU ARE ONLY WATCHING HALF OF IT
Getting into Water Polo in Singapore
Getting into water polo is easy. Children can be introduced to the game during swimming lessons. Register for a free assessment now if your child is ready for the game.
Kids’ Swimming Lessons
Children can be introduced to water polo in their swimming lessons. Our Learn to Swim Programme has water polo specific modules in Levels 8 – 10, known as the Aquatics Skills Framework.
These three steps on the Programme involve learning the basics of the sport from movement, shooting and passing to more complex skills and technique. Ask your child’s swimming teacher about it at the next lesson.
The Aquatics Skills Framework also involves playing Mini-polo – a beginner’s version of water polo with a smaller ball.
The rules of Mini-polo are more relaxed – players can stand up for example – so you can play in shallow water and just use floats or cones as goalposts.

Age Groups Competition
Competitive Water Polo
Here at 28º Aquatic, we provide competitive water polo programme that aims to encourage swimmers from age 7 through to young adult to progress from swimming lessons to being able to compete on a local, regional and national level.
28º Aquatic is a competitive water polo club that aims to give swimmers every opportunity to develop their skills and fitness so that they can reach their potential as swimmers and all-round sportspeople. Due to the nature of the game, it is a sport that requires a lot of dedication to reach your potential and we would expect this commitment from swimmers who want to join the programme.
Before attending a trial, we expect swimmers to have completed at least Stage 6 on the Swimming Development program and ideally be aged 7-9 years old. The older the swimmer the higher the standard we would expect as they would often need to start in a higher training group. We will consider swimmers outside this age range if they show exceptional potential or are already swimming competitively or at a high enough level.
We are a competitive water polo club and therefore expect commitment to not only the training but also to Galas which maybe at different locations or outside the country depending on the level the swimmers reach.
